Дідусі та бабусі за соціальні дії (GSA) – це некомерційна організація, яка має на меті навчати та залучати людей похилого віку до соціальних дій, надавати можливість онукам робити світ кращим і створювати спадщину від одного покоління до іншого. Заснована в 1991 році, GSA була в авангарді просування відносин між поколіннями та соціальної активності серед людей похилого віку та їхніх сімей.
У GSA ми віримо, що люди похилого віку мають величезні знання, навички та досвід, які можна використати для загального блага. Залучаючи їх до проектів соціальних дій, ми надаємо їм можливість використовувати свої таланти та досвід для здійснення позитивних змін у своїх громадах. Ми також визнаємо важливу роль, яку відіграють бабусі й дідусі у формуванні цінностей своїх онуків. Надаючи їм інструменти та ресурси для соціальної активності, ми допомагаємо їм прищепити ці цінності майбутнім поколінням.
Наші програми спрямовані на сприяння стосункам між поколіннями через змістовні заходи, які приносять користь як людям похилого віку, так і дітям. Ми пропонуємо семінари на такі теми, як збереження навколишнього середовища, громадські роботи, захист прав людини, зміцнення здоров’я, оцінка культурного розмаїття тощо.
Однією з наших провідних програм є «Зв’язок бабусь і дідусів з онуками», яка об’єднує бабусь і дідусів з їхніми онуками віком від 6 до 12 років для веселих заходів, таких як розповіді історій або майстер-класи з декоративно-прикладного мистецтва. Ця програма спрямована не лише на зміцнення сімейних зв’язків, а й на раннє ознайомлення дітей з проблемами суспільства, щоб вони могли розвинути співчуття до інших.
Ще одна програма – «Старші, які діють», яка передбачає тренінги щодо того, як люди похилого віку можуть стати ефективними прихильниками справ, які їх найбільше хвилюють, як-от зміна клімату чи реформа охорони здоров’я.
