Моя дочка звернулася до Галлатину з приводу сильного болю, як запропонував її лікар. Її посадили в кімнату без ковдр, ні подушок, ні кнопки дзвінка, (вона попросила ковдру і їй так і не дали). Коли я звернув це увагу доктора, вона просто кивнула. Вони сказали їй, що збираються вводити рідину, і через 4 години так і не зробили. Зразок сечі, який вона дала, ніколи не потрапляв у лабораторію. Вони таки запропонували взяти інший зразок.

Зараз я усвідомлюю, що ER не є готелем, і є люди з критичними травмами та небезпеками для життя, і іноді доводиться чекати. Я зрозумів це. Чого я не розумію, так це повна відсутність будь-якої емпатії. Доктор, з яким я розмовляв, був дуже стислим і зневажливим. Я навіть міг пустити це на ковзання, ЯКЩО вони зробили що-небудь, щоб допомогти їй. Натомість її відправили додому з обіцянкою зателефонувати їй із призначенням на іншу процедуру. Цього ER не вистачає у багатьох сферах!
