Марті - дуже доброзичливий інструктор, який намагається зробити свій клас дуже повсякденним, що добре і добре, але чи це правильний спосіб навчити людей носити смертельну зброю?

Ми з дружиною відвідували клас Марті кілька місяців тому. Як я вже сказав, він був дуже доброзичливий, дав нам гарне спорядження, а його дружина принесла нам дуже гарний обід. Він також мав безкоштовні напої та закуски, що було приємно.

Класна кімната знаходилась у невеликій складській будівлі, яка була погано обладнана для класної кімнати. Не було кондиціонера і дуже мало вентиляції. Крім того, класна кімната виглядала більше як задум у дуже тісному будинку, наповненому великою кількістю інших речей.

Коли ми записались у клас, нам надіслали підтвердження з дуже чіткими інструкціями. Клас розпочався негайно о 8 ранку, і там було дуже чітко сказано не використовувати GPS, оскільки це призведе вас до неправильного місця, разом із добре написаними вказівками про те, як дістатися до класу. Очевидно, час початку 8 ранку - це більше орієнтир, оскільки ми чекали півтори години для студента, який використовував GPS замість вказівок.

В інструкції також чітко було зазначено, що взяти з собою в клас, включаючи засоби захисту очей та вух для частини живого вогню на стрільбищі. Пізній студент не приніс жодного з них. Ця сама людина також заснула під час занять. Можливо, я тут божевільний, але я думаю, що якщо ви не можете слідувати простим інструкціям (або не спати), у вас немає справи з прихованою смертоносною зброєю.

Коли я сказав, що Марті був дуже доброзичливим, я маю на увазі, що він був ДУЖЕ привітним. Він часто розмовляв по дотичних, розповідаючи історії про свою сім'ю або минулий досвід, який іноді міг зв'язати суть питання про CCDW, але часто ні. Цей тип інструктажів перетворив клас, який мав би зайняти 4-5 годин, на 9+ годинний гасло, включаючи півтори години, витрачені на очікування пізнього студента. Він проводив стільки часу поза темою, що йому довелося за годину пробігти останню частину класу. Ця частина включала такі теми, як вибір цілей, очищення зброї та способи взаємодії з поліцією під час носіння смертоносної зброї. Цю останню частину точно не слід поспішати взагалі в сучасних кліматичних умовах.

Наприкінці заняття ми склали «тест» на те, що дізналися. Я кажу "тест", тому що це була відкрита книга, і я міг запитати, якою була відповідь на кожне питання. Марті насправді сказав нам перед тестом, що кожен отримає 100% на іспиті, незалежно від того, чи ви насправді чогось навчилися. Це була частина, яка справді розлютила і мою дружину, і мене самого.

Ви ходите на заняття, щоб навчитися носити приховану зброю. Я вважаю, що викладач хотів би знати, чи ви насправді зберегли будь-яку інформацію, яку він вас навчив. Що ви насправді чомусь навчилися від нього, якби ні з якої іншої причини він не міг отримати зворотний зв’язок щодо своїх навчальних здібностей. Його невимушене ставлення до нашого "випускного іспиту" про те, що йому насправді було все одно, і що заняття в основному було штампом.

Потім ми проїхали 15 хвилин або близько того до "полігону", який був на фермі друзів (не хвилюйтеся, він про це має історію). Потім ми витратили близько 15 хвилин на встановлення дальності, 30 хвилин поспішаючи через тест і ще 15 хвилин, розібравши дальність і контролюючи нашу латунь. Ми не встигли випробувати жодної техніки стрільби, яку він навчив нас під час занять.

Коли все це було сказано і зроблено, ми були в цьому класі понад 10 годин. Зараз ми хотіли б, щоб ми поїхали до пістолетів Бада в Лексінгтон або Пойнт Бланк у Флоренції, штат Кентукі. Мій син отримає свій CCDW наступного місяця, він не приїде сюди. Якщо вам потрібен в основному гарантований дозвіл CCDW, тоді візьміть цей клас. Якщо ви хочете насправді дізнатись про те, як бути відповідальним власником дозволу CCDW, зробіть собі послугу, заплатіть зайві гроші і поїдьте кудись ще.

Ми з дружиною щойно відвідували клас містера Дейлі. Це був третій клас CC, який я пройшов (ND, UT та KY). Це було точно найкраще! Я дізнався більше від містера Дейлі, ніж від обох попередніх класів разом. Він надавав індивідуальну допомогу на полігоні та був дуже безпечним та ретельним інструктором! Дякую містере Дейлі!
